  1. In recognition of the legitimate 
  2. claims of all three monotheistic 
  3. religions to holy sites in Jerusa-
  4. lem, the Israeli government in 
  5. 1967 passed the Law for the 
  6. Protection of Holy Places. The 
  7. law assured freedom of worship 
  8. and access to holy sites to mem-
  9. bers of all religions. Some of the 
  10. Jewish synagogues in the Old 
  11. City which had been destroyed 
  12. by the Jordanians were restored. 
  13. Urgently needed restoration and 
  14. repairs were coordinated in the 
  15. Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
